Three friends and I headed up to Wellsboro yesterday and here is what we got. We caught 16 trains with 38 engines in total.

At this point, we headed out to go search for the Chessie unit by the elevator on the CKIN. We walked about a mile, only to find that it wasn't there. Nonetheless, IBCX 818/8314/2003 were resting by the road:

Nice pics. Even though its a little blurry I like the pic of the IBCX units. What a motley roster.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

I wish they turned out better. We were using the last ray of sunlight. At least I got my exercise, running a mile to get there :D

Nice variety and a decent day you had there at the Boro.

I wonder if the SD18 got moved down to their "facility" so to speak. LaCrosse has a bunch of old relics tucked away. It's sort of hard to get at **legally** As I did in Wellsboro, I advise asking a crew member, if present, for permission to walk down the ROW to get shots, or, if no crew members are around, someone at the mill is normally friendly enough to OK it. A while back some knucklehead douchebag stole the horns of a unit there in Wellsboro, and I have been told that they are being watched by a "concerned neighbor."

That might explain the "No Trespassing" signs and security cameras around the 3 parked CKIN units.

Hah yea, you may have been on camera! lol
The Chicken crew are all quite friendly, so if you make it down to LaCrosse you'd probably have no problem gaining access to their area. I know there's a variety on hand, and without looking at my pics, I believe a couple Geeps of ex-CR and ex-CN heritage are tucked away. The ex CN Geep sees some use occasionally I think. There is an old switcher back there too. It's sort of a junky setting with lots of barrels and parts laying around, so expect your roster shot to be cluttered.
Also, you'll notice an old tower alongside their mainline just on the west side of the 421 grade crossing. I always thought it would be a nice shot to get a CKIN train alongside that ghostly looking tower.
Nice YT videos to compliment the report.

Thanks. Yeah we were directly on camera, I looked right into it. I don't think we were doing anything wrong as we were standing on whatever county road that is.

The Chessie SD18 is now parked in Malden, IN next to their grain elevator, which is located near US 421 in Malden.

Last time I went down there I got to see the old Missable SD working. The Chicken has quite a cool operation and I'd love to see more. They also seemed quite nice.
This is my life. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

If this is a problem get used to it.
