The NS track gang is now on the Lincoln Secondary. Starting at the north end working south. Causing a lot of problems for the CN trains trying to get across at Penford. Should tie up at Brownstown tonight. Today's phone call.........
CN train master from Flat rock yard to yard master at Conrail's River Rouge yard :
CN : Hey are you in charge of the the diamond at Penford ?
CR : No, I'am a yardmaster. I have no control of anything.
CN : Well your track gang is holding up my trains at Penford.
CR : Sir, that is not my track gang.
CN : So that's not your track ?
CR : Yes the track belongs to Conrail, but the track gang is NS and the track is dispatched by CSX. Let me give you the track supt. number he'll fix you up.
CN : Wonderful, Thanks.
You just can't make this $hit up !
Usually not. Most of these guys are from out of state ( down south ). I was surprised to see them working on Friday. They normally hit it hard Mon thru Thur , sun up to sun down ( or later now ) and travel on Fri and back by Mon morning. The schedule my have changed being so close to the holiday season.

On the Detroit Line, NS 331 comes south while Conrail Trenton 3 waits for them to crossover at CP Mill before proceeding back to River Rouge Yard with all tankers from BASF.
Any idea what commodity those gondolas are used for in the GTW Dearborn Sub picture?
