GLC Northern District 2.17.09

Unread post by KC »

While TrainNut85 caught the big GLC fish today, smaller prey were to be had up north.
Encountered 389 southbound near Mancelona, followed into Cadillac. Short train today.

After crossing the Rapid River on a high fill, the main curves through the woods and on to Kalkaska.

Crossing US-131, this overpass has seen countless freight and passenger trains, PRR-PC-MIGN-TSBY and now GLC.

Looking like spring is upon us, 389 near Mile Post 342 in Wexford County south of Manton.

Looks like all they had was cars from Petoskey. I'm not sure what'll happen to the cement terminal now that the Dundee plant is closed. They go through a lot of cement in Elmira but being it's in nomansland I've wondered how much longer they can operate it.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
