Circleville to Portsmouth, Ohio and All the Trains We Saw

Unread post by B-Town »

Hello all! :D

Yesterday (Saturday December 10, 2011), Geoff and I went south to see some Norfolk Southern and CSX trains.

CSX E492 at two locations:

NS 218:

NS 194 at several locations with a cool catfish for a change:

Then we found some cool stuff in Portsmouth Yard and NS 233 pulling in:

Then 233 left after getting a new crew and refueled:

After we ate dinner in Waverly, we found NS L5R at Douglas Road in Chillicothe, Ohio.

...And the L5R broke down at Watt Street while trying to make a backing move:

I would imagine it is difficult to perform switching duties at night and especially in the cold like L5R was doing. Looks like the gate was down where they broke down which will make the motorists none too happy :x
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

They were having trouble re-gaining air after losing it all at one point. The train was able to back up a few feet, deactivating the crossing, but they soon got stuck again.
