Over 100 trains a day? I wish that were the case all the times Mr. Hall and I have been along that line.

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.

Not sure about the video, but your list of locations has two errors;
Dahinda, not Nahinda
Stronghurst, not Stronghold
Dahinda, not Nahinda
Stronghurst, not Stronghold

Oh crap...somewhere early on in my notes I switched Stronghold to Stronghurst...fatal flaw. Video down until further notice while I fix it...Mr. Tops wrote:Not sure about the video, but your list of locations has two errors;

Going to say its busy but usually rolls over and dies in the early afternoons when I've been out there. BNSF traffic is split between Mendota Sub and former ATSF, so No way there is 100 moves a day on the ATSF alone.J T wrote:Over 100 trains a day? I know it is pulled so you can't watch it to check, but I'm not kidding...

Re: BNSF's Chillicothe Subdivision
The Chilli Sub (and the entire Transcon for that matter) is closer to 70 a day. May be a bit busier west of Galesburg.

Like stated previously, the Chilli Sub does not see over 100, or really close to 100 trains per day. Around 70-75 is a better count, sometimes even less than 70.
Well... That didn't work.MQT3001 wrote:(crosses fingers no mistakes are found)

Ahh yes, description you are quoting. I thought you guys were quoting the video itself...which was correct:~Z~ wrote:No, you said over 100.MQT3001 wrote: Boasting over one hundred trains per day, the former Santa Fe mainline stretches for 238 miles between Chicago and Fort Madison, Iowa

I choose to say nearly 100 because while there probably isn't really ever 100, it can get close over some parts of the line, especially during the busier times of the year. Since I'm making a second version I will change the number. I don't think saying "nearly 100" is grossly wrong but I suppose "more than 70" is more correct in general form.
Of course then I didn't proof my writing...obviously. Can't slip stuff by here! Thanks Tops for pointing out my blatant mistakes.

Re: BNSF's Chillicothe Subdivision
I watched about 27 minutes into the video and I thought it was very nice. Of course, I don't know much about the Chilli line other than where it goes to and a few other facs.

Thanks! I just wish my shortcomings didn't obscure the project as a whole...justin_gram wrote:I watched about 27 minutes into the video and I thought it was very nice. Of course, I don't know much about the Chilli line other than where it goes to and a few other facs.

You run into trouble on your stuff when you make assumptions. Lay off the broad assumptions and people won't be so quick to correct you.MQT3001 wrote:Thanks! It's like I said last week Alex, ask questions first and nobody can jump on you because you'll be right or closer to right.CSX_CO wrote:You run into trouble on your stuff when you make assumptions.
