Squaw Creek (love the name!!!!) Coal operated a haulage line in southern Indiana between Boonville and Yankeetown on the Ohio River. The first power were second hand units from Precision National Corp.
9843, RSD15, was built by Alco in June 1960, #83579, as AT&SF 843, Class 800. It was renumbered 9843, Class 9800, in 1970, and sold to Precision National in 1975. They sold it to SCCCo as 9843 in 1975. It later became Peabody 9843 and then was sold to IHR as 9843 in 1988. It was soon renumbered 443. It became A&TC 443 in 2000, but is leased from a private owner.

The ballast and the bushes just dont look right, almost looks like a Kdee coupler on the front. The rail joint bar looks real tho

in some cases, film from 1981 will jack up the colors and saturation like that.

definatly model looks like that moos stuff for foliage probobly real pic in background some photoshop probobly

Definitely real. Look at the fine detail, especially the shadowing from the sun.

I've seen the Squaw Valley once before, then looked at the other pictures. If it is a model, which I do not think it is, kudos for a great job on the whole picture and details. Look at the ties and the high tension tower in the background. As for the lighting, between photography lights and photoshop programs, just about anything is possible. It is tough to see the coupler, which is great if it were a model and he was hiding that little detail that would be difficult to replicate.

That's the kind of power the Lake State needs operating south from Saginaw on the former CSX mainline - an RSD15 or two!
