passed away back on New Years Eve..he was a prominent editor for a railroad magazine..

:( Another great railroad photographer gone by the wayside. I was a fan of his work. I even took a picture of a boxcar , A long time ago with " Jim Boyd uses Photomat " scribbled on it and sent him a copy. He will be missed. God speed.

Understand that well known railfan & modeler Jim Boyd passed away this past weekend. No other details.

In the video, "Alcos, Iron Ore and More" (1985) Boyd did an enthusiastic narration that made it seem like he was in the room with you.

I remember as a kid back in the late 1970's getting gift subscriptions from my parents to R&R magazine he took some really good picture's and his stories where really good to. http://trn.trains.com/en/Railroad%20New ... 0dies.aspx
