Gregg, the only door on the engineers side is behind the engineer.
Matt. if you look closely under the anti-climber you can see the MU cable.

I GOT IT!!!!!

It all makes sence now it has a GP38 hood, and not a GP38-2 long hood. The long hood has been replaced. The new long hood looks washed out, compaired to the rest of the Blue.

Matt, it does look as if some of the hood doors have been pulled off other units, but the radiator and fans are that of a GP38-2.

I know I'm gonna get slapped around for this, but it looks like axle two is off the rail.

I had to go back and take another look (and stuck the screen right in my face), but if you can look at it close enough, all the axles are on the tracks...the tracks look a bit low or something though...

Tank Car

Unread post by Mackinac Mac »

The long hood has been repalced. Shouldn't there be a spacer car between that tank and the locomotive? especially depending on what it is carrying ?

The running board (battery box?) below the short hood (nose) is painted blue instead of red like the nose.

Nope if I am looking at it right, it looks like a Class 9. No spacer needed. Looks to be Asphalt.

If you look at the engineers side of the long hood, on anything newer than a -2, right below the front edge of the radiator section at the top of the long hood, is a little oval window. It allows the engineer to see the water level in the sight glass, with out oppening up the doors.

In this photo the oval on the 6th hood door in the the long end.
