Many people celebrate Xmas at houses that are not theirs and need to stop for a snack along the way. I can't tell you how many times coming back from my in-laws on Xmas night and would kill for some fries and a coke Many people work on Xmas and need to eat while at work. Please tell me you understand this.

I for one along with others will be celebrating Christmas Day at the bar with friends and family... Yes I said bar. I have lots of friends that I consider family that don't have family to go see so we all meet and go the bar to celebrate together as a family. Why not invite them to a house... Well 100+ people in a some house just dont work lol

Most people put out tons of food and snacks for their guests on Christmas eve.

And? That does not really help people that drive 4 or 5 hours to their destination.

Only 4 or 5? Before I returned to Michiogan, my typical Christmas Eve drive was 14 hours, and my mongest was 28 (Orlando to Grand Rapids, with the Northern part in blizzard conditions).

Nothing more fun than eating old Sbarro pizza slices at a toll road service plaza, served by someone who doesn't want to be there. By the time I wised up and cashed in Speedway points, bought big sandwiches the night before, disassembled and rebuilt them, itw as time to relocate back to Michigan.

Unfortunately, people can't always rely on their relatives to provide food and snacks that are better than McD's.

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.

Unacceptable. According to some you should have been able to survive on snacks and food at your destination.

Wish I could do that, especially at some of the places I've been offered food. I have to eat on a schedule, like the meal or not, and driving while hungry has serious consequences for me, as well as anyone driving near me.
