I forgot about Box Car Willie, I am going to have to see if I can find some of his stuff. The reason for the question is that I am trying to put some music together for those times when I need a fix and unable to be near the tracks.

Boxcar Willie! I have everyone of his tapes. I was fisrt introduced to him at age three and by age four I was able to do his Train Whistle wich I can still do today. I remeber going to his concert one year and at the end of a song I particularly liked, I did the whistle. Box stopped, turned around and looked to see who did it. I never got to meet him in person but that was good enough for me. I still listen to his songs from time to time. I have never said anything because I thought nobody knew who he was. Good to hear there are still some who still listen to his music. A good song thats not rail related but it is a good one is one he did called "Luther".
Take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the Ice! lol

My favorites are:

"Locomotive Breath" by Jethro Tull

"Train Train" by Blackfoot

and

"You Are A Conductor" by The Constantines.

These are all "modern" ones, but they are good. 8) -Chris

I like that song by The Constantines as well. Also:
Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne (maybe not exactly a train song but...)
No Leaf Clover - Metallica
