New Rock: Green Day, Rise Agaisnt, pretty much anything but Country

97.5 out of Lansing is the best station ever, they have a good mix of rap, rock, and what ever else they call it.

It WAS the best...back when it was Oldies 97.5......now it's called Top40, and I don't enjoy rap at all.
That being said, I'll listen to just about anything. I like older stuff mainly. like Classic rock, some country, folk music, some 1980s Pop & Rock, as long as it isn't rap, I guess I like it.

A year ago I would've answered rap and probably some rock. After the Teen Association of Model Railroader's Summer National Convention, I became more interested in rock and less so in rap, probably because Dave Cenci rode with me and likes to object to the rap... Since school started in the fall though, I've changed from hating country period to listening to it most of the time, with the occasional older rock stuff thrown in (by older I mean stuff on the classic rock station down here- northern Indiana- including such classic groups as Metallica, AC/DC, and the like...probably not exactly classics but not new either). Still, I can symphathize with those who don't like country...but if you give it a chance, it starts to grow on ya...and before ya know it, ya like the stuff.
...My 2 cents- take 'em or leave 'em...

By day I like Rare Oldies, such as what you'd hear on WPON-AM 1460 Walled Lake during the week...their playlist seems to focus more on the late 1950s-early 1960s, and puts the other "Oldies" stations to shame!

By night I prefer Soft AC music, such as what would be found on CKWW-580 Windsor or CFCO-630 Chatham, ONT.

I'll also listen to Bluegrass, Eurodance, some rock.

Basically, I'll listen to anything except heavy metal or rap -- those I find very boring.

Classic Rock like Rush (my favorite band :D ) , AC/DC, Ted Nugent, etc.
96.9 Grand Rapids!
Anything but rap or country.
Starting bringing my CD player to school since it seems almost all school bus drivers like country.

Basicaly, everything but Pop(which includes remixes, dance tunes..etc) and Rap. I dont realy care for Country, but will listen to it from time to time.
Most of what is in my CD case is Metallica, there is also Aerosmith(the older stuff), Queens of the Stone Age, Trans Siberian Orchestra (Clasical music meets Hard Rock), White Stripes, as well as some burned CD's with all sorts of Hard Rock and Metal tunes.
Let me correct myself..I HATE RAP..there, that feels better...

Ah, music...the channel which any amount of frustration/anger can be displaced.

Into some of the hard rock/metal that's out there. Rather than list genres, here's some specifics that I really enjoy on some of my mp3 disks...

Anthrax
Stuck Mojo
Alice in Chains
Two Heded Chan
Slipknot
Nine Inch Nails
Spineshank
Taproot
The Offspring
Ozzy
AC/DC
Old Metallica
Weezer
Megadeth
Seether
Armored Saint
Three Days Grace
Green Day

Now for a couple odd ones, I think MC Hammer, Snoop and Onyx(rap stuff) is rather amuzing to listen to. I have a real hatred for most Rap/gangsta/yoyoyo music though.

Hey..wait a sec..the CBD isn't Country..it's "southern Rock". I have their July 2005 DVD..great stuff..even has clips from Volunteer Jam 1975..as I said..CBD at their finest. 8) Well, they didn't used to be country anyhow.

What can I say I drive a pickup, with a CB radio, and live in da country, and do construction! I live in a place where 60% of the pickup trucks have confederate Flags in the hitches! (I'm not one of them)

Whisky for my Men, Beer for my Horses!

Well, I walk into the room
Passing out hundred dollar bills
And it kills and it thrills like the horns on my Silverado grill
And I buy the bar a double round of crown
And everybody's getting down
An' this town ain't never gonna be the same.

[Chorus:]
Cause I saddle up my horse
and I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise
Cause the girls
They are so pretty
Riding up and down Broadway
on my old stud Leroy
And the girls say
Save a horse, ride a cowboy.
Everybody says
Save a horse, Ride a cowboy

Well I don't give a dang about nothing
I'm singing and Bling-Blinging
While the girls are drinking
Long necks down!
And I wouldn't trade ol' Leroy
or my Chevrolet for your Escalade
Or your freak parade
I'm the only John Wayne left in this town

And I saddle up my horse
and I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise
Cause the girls
They are so pretty
Riding up and down Broadway
on my old stud Leroy
And the girls say
Save a horse, ride a cowboy.
Everybody says
Save a horse, Ride a cowboy

[Spoken:]
I'm a thourough-bred
that's what she said
in the back of my truck bed
As I was gettin' buzzed on suds
Out on some back country road.
We where flying high
Fine as wine, having ourselves a big and rich time
And I was going, just about as far as she'd let me go.
But her evaluation
of my cowboy reputation
Had me begging for salvation
all night long
So I took her out giggin frogs
Introduced her to my old bird dog
And sang her every Wilie Nelson song I could think of

And we made love
And I saddled up my horse
and I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise
Cause the girls
They are so pretty
Riding up and down Broadway
on my old stud Leroy
And the girls say
Save a horse, ride a cowboy.
Everybody says
Save a horse, Ride a cowboy

What? What?
Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy
Everybody says
Save a Horse Ride a cowboy.
