Video's with sound...but I'll never turn down a picture either. There's some excellent photographers here :)
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Videos are good occasionally but I think pictures are better!

I used to do mostly video, until my video camera developed problems and I purchased a DSLR camera about 2 years ago. Recently I got the video camera repaired and plan to use it to shoot video again in addition to taking photos when watching trains. Somehow I lost most of the video I shot in the past before the video camera broke, and I'd like to have some of my own clips to watch on the computer again...

I shoot way more pictures than video, but I'm going to try making more videos soon.

Haven't took my camcorder out lately, trying to get much better using my Canon. But always enjoy the YouTube videos you guys post (Justin, TrainWatcher, ChrisRacer, and others). Keep up the good work!

Started out with video and then switched to taking pictures instead. I have absolutely no regrets about it. Pictures are much easier to deal with.

Well take a look at my avitar, and what I normally post and that should give my answer to the question. I don't mind a great picture, but I love the sound that trains give and capturing that is always fun.
My train pictures can now be found at:

And my train videos at:

Still photography is the easier of the two with photoshop, but once you master video editing programs like final cut pro or avid you can edit just about any video.

Its weird I have a bachelors degree in broadcasting but no really desire to shoot video of trains at all.
