Darn it, I never see the easy ones before someone else gets it.
Speaking of which:
Where be it? ROW used to run right through here toward the elevator in the background.
My dog poops and pees on that ROW often between those two buildings.

Is this anywhere close to Big Rapids? I feel like I’ve been here before..

Not close to Big Rapids. The creek that runs through the middle of this town definitely doesn't have any big rapids in it.

But that creek does connect to a river that eventually flows over a waterfall that is next to another rail line. Heyoo!

It's Hopkins. The ROW is easy to see making its way north trough Dorr, Byron Center and into Grand Rapids.
Too bad it has not been made into a public trail.

Hmmm... Looks a bit like the stretch between Baldwin and Reed City. Maybe it's between Alpena and Mackinaw City.

My nephew lives a block north of the elevator. Guess I don't get over there often enough to recognize this. Good pizza right behind the photographer.

David, Following that trail that Z picked up on it was easy to find Forman Rd.
Did you pick that location because your parents cottage is on nearby Paradise Lake?

Our place is in East Jordan, so no.

But yes, Forman Road in Baldwin.

I just picked a spot that I discovered on the old PM while I was exploring on a weekend at Ferris, really shoulda been studying for a final that day

Trail is definitely in better shape than this 2009 googlemaps photo shown. Not a ton better, but more sand/dirt now. Rode that section just over a week ago. Hopped off at Forman to ride through Idlewild a bit, then back on at Broadway St.

100%, I knew the streetview image was out of date when I compared it to my photo of the trail at a spot just east of Forman, it definitely looks a lot better. Me and Katie plan on bringing our bikes to Ferris State in the fall, maybe we’ll ride it then :)

I agree, but unfortunately a lot of the ROW has been wiped clean in farm fields.

State tried to buy the right-of-way back in the mid 90's for a trail conversion but was sued by some NIMBY adjacent landowners:
