Right across the tracks. They have a depot and some cars there. Nothing impressive but if you haven't seen some of that stuff it's pretty cool. Plus you aren't a far drive from Indiana and lots of trains!Pixl wrote:You are correct. That would be the C&O depot in New Buffalo. Still is used for MOW. If you get a chance to check out the coal tower and museum down there they are actually pretty darn cool.
I'd like to see it in person someday. Where is the museum located?

Re: Where am I?
I must be confusing this depot with another because I thought the only depot left in New Buffalo was a replica?

This is the C&O which is inland from the MC.MQT1223 wrote:I must be confusing this depot with another because I thought the only depot left in New Buffalo was a replica?
Was it the depot or just a yard office? Strikes me as pretty far down the from New Buffalo to have been the depot? Would have thought it to be right up there by the main road into town?

Yup. I drive by that at least 2-3 times a month. Every time while heading west, I challenge myself to a bet whether or not a boxcar will be sitting there. So far I'm even money.~Z~ wrote:It is west of grand rapids, north of benton Harlem and on CSX.

Re: Where am I?
There's a place east of Trout Lake on CN's SSM line that gets quite a few tank cars. I can't think of the town's name at the moment. Rudyard or Kinross perhaps?
