I think Pixl got this right, again. If yes, that's the east end of the Saline Branch that used to go to Ypsilanti. Good work Pixl :)

Anyone know exactly when this segment was abandoned? It could not have been that long ago.

I read up on this spot after I found it. It was down to about 1 train a week in 1998 when they shut it down.

Ok, here is a mystery I found while searching for Michael's bridge. I flew over these CN rails in E. Lansing crossing over Farm Lane Rd.

When I dropped down to street view there was no bridge there?? WHAT?

With some research I found that between the time street view went by and the landsat photo the grade crossing had been replaced with a new bridge. Sure took me at first.

That bridge has been in place for at least 5 years. They need to update street view!
