Boyne City and Boyne Mountain? BCG&A? That is a great guess even if you are wrong

1223 you are very correct! Nice work! When I was tracing the BCG&A grade one day on Google, I was amazed to see Streetview was all over the ski resort. I have since read that Google loans out a back pack for hikers too that does streetview in the wild.

Here is a trace of the grade I made going right across the parking lot of Boyne Mountain Resort. Part of it is still in use as a service drive.

I know part of that Ski Resort is built on top of former railroad property and I didn't know of another location in the state that had a ski resort by abandoned grade. These rails were abandoned in 1975.

AARR is right about Thompsonville (where the AARR & PM met) being close to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort but the old ROW is maybe a mile from the resort.

The truck in the picture has auto frames from the Tower plant that used to go by rail in dedicated trains to Warren Assembly. Now they go by truck to Toledo's Jeep plant.

Somewhere down near Monroe in SE Mi? Looks like two separate rail lines running in this shot. If not, sounds like we need more hints :)

No not near Monroe. It is on the HESR if that helps.

Looks like the Huron R. near Ann Arbor. No Streetview to verify.
