Montcalm Ave at Riverside Dr/Grand River Dr just east of Lowell at the Kent/Ionia County line. Grand River Valley Rail-Trail starts on the left.

Wow, Mark you are correct.
One of my wife friends girls were graduating from Alma and they posted this shot on Facebook.
I couldn't resist posting it up as a RR location. Nice job.

I don't think you were here, but I did tell you and that other person about a train I saw stopped and where.tsinoms wrote:I know the answer as I was next to you and another person who I ban from answering. UP power finds its way to Michigan occasionally.Pixl wrote:Aww.. I'm just not connecting with this one. What is UP power doing in Michigan anyhow? UP system map shows tracks only as far East as Chicago.
Inncorrect, it is east of North Baltimore. I didn't take any photos (that day) between North Baltimore and Deshler.Ypsi wrote:
I would bet this was from the RRfan meet, and the train is trying to get into the North Baltimore Yard. Probably between Deshler and North Baltimore, more specific than that I probably cannot get.
These two guys may know the answer! (It's in their names!)

Re: Where am I?
Well from the recent hints, it is East of N. Baltimore. Using Google Earth I've looked at every inch of track from N. Baltimore, thru Bloomdale, and on to Fostoria. About the only things to look for is the hill to the right of the train, the taller trees in the distance, and green brush and small trees on both sides. This area of Ohio is all flat farm land with barely any other features. There is a car to the distant right of the train maybe on a highway or at least a drive. I'm not seeing any of these features. Now there is a flat white box on the left foreground, a several little signs and some green thing, and a short power pole with a street light, all of which may not have been there when streetview went thru the area in 2009.

Re: Where am I?
Based on Jochs's clues, orlando BLOOM and DALE earnhardt, appears it's in Bloomdale OH. I think that hill on the right is where we've hung out a few times to get shots. Route 18 crossing looking east? Street view is from 2009, so maybe they've added streetlights and that small box on the left since then.

Bloomdale is correct! Route 18 looking east.
Saturnalia and tsinoms were out at Galatea and didn't get to see this train because they were "train effed" by an eastbound. This is when I told them that I had seen this a little while ago at Bloomdale. I saw the train between Bloomdale and Bairdstown.

Here is a lonely buffer stop on a little used siding in N. Michigan. The rails are mostly under sand and gravel in this yard. The switch stand is not visible in street view from the nearby road due to brush. Can you find the location and name the business it serves.
