Re: Where am I?
Ok this is starting to get annoying.
Can we get another hint? I feel like half of the D&M has been guessed already. Lol

Re: Where am I?
I'm gonna say the D&M referenced is the Detroit and Mackinaw not the Detroit and Milwaukee because a good amount of the depots that we've found from the first line have had very similar styling cues, such as the large bricks and the way that roof is slanted.

It's the Detroit & Mackinaw RR. on a section that was abandoned before the LSRC came along.EWRice wrote:Which D&M are we talking about? Can you at least throw us that bone?

Onaway's depot was a wood structure. Go Easthoborich wrote:Onaway?

Good. I was wondering what in the world you do that would have you working in Machine for a couple days. The satellite imagery didn't show much there.Pixl wrote:Sorry, this is not it either.GreatLakesRailfan wrote:How about Lachine?

Not it, Harrisville depot has a round turret at one end, one large door at the other. Go North.hoborich wrote:Harrisville?

Roger City? It seems to fit all your clues and I cannot find a photo of the depot, although I did find several people looking for a photo of that depot.

Re: Where am I?
Rogers City it is! I had aways known of the spur that leaves the main line near Posen up to the lime stone Quarry at Calcite. What I was surprised to learn last week is that the tracks continued in a circuitous route around the far side of the quarry then on into Rogers City running along the East side of 2nd street to the waters edge on the North side. The "Waters Edge" restaurant now sits where the depot and rail yard used to be.Michael wrote:Roger City? I found the depot photo on Facebook, search for "Rogers city remembered" look in the 2012 section.

Probably too easy...bonus points if you can name everyone in the photo (usernames, not real names)...
