Check the listing for Durand under Michigan.
This is where I will be:
It’s Tulip Time in Holland - MARP members and local dignitaries will serve free coffee and cake and hand out promotional material. Mayor Al McGeehan, in his authentic Dutch costume, will read a proclamation proclaiming Saturday, May 9, 2009 as National Train Day, inside the historic Pere Marquette Railroad station and at train side, then present the proclamation to the conductor of Amtrak’s train 371.

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.

You're not much if you're not Dutch. Don't forget to grab a few Windmill cookies. I love those.

I'd love to be there, but that day is also my gf's birthday AND her day off. Just bad timing for this meet...again.

Well, my gf is Dutch, and I'm sure I'll be grabbing other things besides windmill cookies.

A thx goes out to all who helped plan this get together (Dave and Lisa). Without the combined effort all may have been lost and we'd be just foamers in Durand! Wait we'll still be foamers in Durand!!!! :D :P See everyone Saturday as i've taken the weekend off work and prolly my last days off from SRI for a few months!!
Rule #1: BerkshireKid is God. Rule #2: God is always right. Rule #3: If you think you may actually be right refer to Rules #1 & #2.

Cleaned up some of the posts on this thread near the end...
We should be thankful we have a decently public-like spot to all hang out and watch trains from, instead of complaining about where credit is due for trying to organize a meet. I'll see whoever shows up early early sat morning (mr tops wants to depart GR at 3am for Durand, crazyman! ahahahhaa)

thank you

Zack, why do you think were coming up Friday and staying at a motel. staying up all right at Durand has it rewards like seeing the trains you never catch during the day like 148
