Photography that Zack doesn't get

Posts that don't fit in the other train categories. Off Subject Chit Chat I tell you. :)

Photography that Zack doesn't get

Unread post by osomething »

I need help to help Zack understand photography. I don't take a whole lot of pictures of trains. Zack takes a ton. My pictures involve capturing parts of a subject, not necessarily making sure the entire body is in it.
So, I wanted to post these photos to see if I can find anyone to give some feedback, critique or whatever.
Thank you for your help. Again, just because the whole train isn't in the picture, doesn't make it a "bad" photo Zack. :)

If you are pleased with the work that you do, does anyone else matter. I've always taken pictures for myself. If others happen to like them, all the better. Nice work.

The colors and lighting are very relaxing to me, I've been trying myself to be a little more on the creative side to take some photos like that.

The photos in my novice opinion look very good. You know what your looking at rather than guessing, and they are not to dark or to bright.

thanks for the feedback! I was trying to tell the story about the colors and the lines these leaves have- not just taking pictures of leaves you know?
I think I should have prefaced this post with the note that I am Zack's fiance- I sometimes forget that everyone on the board doesn't know this. Zack's response was "I don't like leaves" initially to these photos- so that's what prompted this post :)

Those are beautiful. I've tried to take similar photos on a number of occasions but, due to my lack of macro equipment, I haven't been able to produce images quite like yours. Very nice.

Not that the feedback here would be bad or anything like that, but it may help if you join up with your photographic peers (if you haven't already)

Since you shoot Canon (at least that's what your EXIF says) I recommend this fine group of people: Canon - P.O.T.N.

These ones too.... The Photo Forum and PhotoCamel

Nice work, Mel. You're definitely "painting with light" with those subjects. Abstract is not something everyone can enjoy, but I'm sure a few of us here do. Keep posting your work here...you'll get lots of feedback.
