It's like those EMD switchers that the N&W had -- every single one of them had a Leslie five-chime.

Can't tell for sure Aaron, kind of looks like a Nathan P-5 to me. Need to be able to zoom-in for a better look. CN was using lots of P-5's until the new K5LLA's started coming into use. But hey, I'll take an M-3h anyday!!!

I had a feeling....... I think it's pretty cool though, a Budd RDC still on the roster of a class one railroad? I might hate CN, but at least this is one neat thing they have.. ( oh yeah, the E-9's are nice too...)

I know. That's still quite a horn for a critter. I was being comparative.

As long as we are on the topic, I'd like to go on the record as saying that I prefer the older 3-chime horns for the most part, BUT, there are a few 5-chime horns that I do like. #1 would be the "old-casting Nathan P-5" (preferably with the rare "0"bell), #2 would be the new "K5LLA", although as a rule, I have always hated the "K" horns. But, these have a similar tone to the old Leslie "S-5" horns that I recall being used on Chesapeake and Ohio GP-9's around here when I was a kid.. My all-time favorite though, of course is, "Old-School Nathan M-3-h". The voice of the Grand Trunk Western! But hey, I have a large collection of horns here, and I guess I can't say I really "hate" any of them... Well, maybe my K5LA, That one can certainly go to anyone that wants to buy it..... Just another "Amtrak Horn"....
