What a shame. I love "Unstoppable", especially since he produced it with very little animation where others would have....

Suicide. He had inoperable brain tumor. He was a movie director. Top Gun was one of his better known movies.

I can understand someone with an inoperable brain tumor taking their life. But jumping off a bridge? Geez. What happened to sleeping pills or running the car in a closed garage.

No matter how you shake it, suicide is a terrible thing. I've lost two very close friends to suicide and it's just something I struggle to understand.

Of course suicide is a terrible thing. But I can't imagine why someone would jump off a bridge or high building, or step in front of a train, when there are much more civilized and less traumatic ways to go.
