Amtrak advertising on WSNX

Unread post by BB »

I was looking up a music video on 104.5 WSNX radio stations web site when there were several Amtrak links with pictures displaying on the page so I took two screenshots. They have the Pere Marquette going across the St. Joe swing bridge for two of there advertising pictures. Also, http://www.mitrain.com is a nice site for the Michigan trains as it tells what you can do in each city these trains serve.

The adverts may have been produced by Westrain. Westrain is a Grand Rapids based passenger rail promotion group. You're likely to see a lot more.

Real reform is needed for the Pere Marquette -- and I'm not talking about nixing its public funds. I ride Pere Marquette and its dismal on-time performance is keeping a lot of people from riding it.

That CSX corridor is a challenge for the folks operating the PM.

i think if you look at the delays it all come from the ns tracks. csx doesn't have the traffic that it used to, but the ns melts down in chicago all the times.

Interesting, I think I'm gonna have to get involved with them somehow.

There's a traffic problem between Indiana and Illinois. However, there are infrastructure problems from Holland to Downtown. There's been times where crews were out with heating elements to unfreeze switches in the southwestern suburbs of GR. It took an hour to unfreeze at one point. Not unheard of, but simple solutions exist.
