He has a favorite? I wouldn't have guessed.......his selections make sense though now that you look at them

From a practical point of view I think any railroad that painted their roster white or light gray or yellow, etc. probably didn't intend to keep their fleet real clean for long. Those SOO units come to mind as looking the dirtiest.

CB&Q's gray scheme
Now your just being lame. CB&Q is my number one fallen flag, always has been. The engines were gray to match the passenger cars man.
Belt Railway of Chicago's gray/yellow/black/white? scheme
Youre killing me with that one. I love seeing the BRC at Clearing Yard. I also thought the Red, white and blue on the 534 looked sharp.

I'd have to put up for consideration the Amtrak GG-1's in their "BOZO THE CLOWN" paint scheme. I love the 1970's, but that's one thing I can do without.

I would say I dislike these the most:

-Canadian Pacific's Maroon/ Gray era.

-BNSF Heritage 3. It shows no symbol of Santa Fe or Burlington Northern like Heritage 1 did.

-New York Central.

-HLCX blue/ purple schemes.

-Penn Central green.

-Atlantic Coast Line. The purple and silver are bad colors for railroad equipment.

-Seattle Sounder Commuter Railroad

-All Clinchfield paint schemes. They all looked un-inspiring.

I've always liked the mint green/white BN scheme, probably because that's the color of the caboose at Thompsonville. Red and Silver SF isn't THAT bad......

I agree and since this thread isn't about the best paint schemes, I'll say no more. :D

I will repeat the worst ever is the SP-SF red/yellow aborted, xxx color rated paint jobs. If they had ever put them on a passenger train, it would have looked liked a rolling brothel

Why does everyone keep beating up on the ACL? That has to be almost my second best paint on a loco. That was not that bad.

Yeah, the Red/ Silver Warbonnet is pretty nice. It has to be (If not) the most famous paint scheme in the world.

In addition to my list above, I would also say all the EMD Demonstrator paint schemes such as the SD40-2 and SD70Mac are pretty ugly paint schemes. The red/ purple shaded color with silver and white just doesn't work. I sure as hell hope W&LE paints over the W&LE 6381 that still wears that EMD scheme. I don't want to see it anymore through here on K388/ K389!

That Auto Train scheme makes it look like they were built using Legos.
