Well they had no money to fix the tracks, which caused derailments, which destroyed cars that they didnt have the money to fix, which slowed freight service, it was all just a downhill spiral from the moment that the merger was announced.

I remember reading the derailment in the video was staged, because they could not get a car to derail when they wanted it to.

well they coulda waited about an hour lol and seen one happen on its own lol and im pretty sure that track is almost as bad as the MAW, 8 MPH speed restriction at all times is bad for a class 1.

What happens if you get killed becuase of a derailment on bad track? I'm pretty sure i wouldnt work for them

If your worried about getting killed by a derailment, dont matter how many in a day there are, it about the fact it can happen. There by you wouldent work for any railroad.

In which are you more likely to be killed? A simple jumping of the track, sitting in the ties while doing 5mph (which most of the mentioned incidents were) or a 60 mph rollover accident. It all goes back to physics. The more energy (momentum), the larger the wreck, because the wreck is the release of the energy built up. an 20-ton loco doing 5 MPH has far, far less built up energy than a 20ton loco doing 60. Then again, this is why you go slow on bad track.

Well they did say a lot of derailments happen in yards where there is more personnel so what happens if a car rolls on you?

WELL I LOVED the P.C. With the speed restrictions I was able to pace the trains on my bike and the slower speeds helped with my focusing my camera ( 110 or 126 ). The parade of colorful equipment was always great to see.
