Not to Hi-Jack this thread, but as long as we are on the subject, How about the Mid-Michigan GP-9 5967? In the early 1990's my cousin and I were lucky enough to get a cab ride on that from Lowell to Elmdale and back. That was freshly painted in a sharp blue and white scheme at that time. Just wondering what ever happened to that unit.

5967 was transferred to the Goderich & Exeter in the mid 90s, then went to the Cape Breton & Nova Scotia RR and as far as I can tell was scrapped around 2008. Here's a shot of it on the GEXR shortly after it arrived there. It left the Mid Michigan not long after being repainted into the blue and white scheme. The lead unit in this photo, GEXR 177, also had a brief stint on the MMRR.

Is the 24 still at the International Paper Company? Has it been scrapped? Can't seem to find any pictures of it working there.

Yes. It sounds like it doesn't see much use.kd_1014 wrote:Is the 24 still at the International Paper Company? Has it been scrapped? Can't seem to find any pictures of it working there.
