Looking around on the internet for the old GT symbols for the Flint, South Bend, Holly, and Mt Clemens Sub but haven't had any luck finding them. Not sure if anyone hesr would know where I could find them.

385/386, 387/388 Battle Creek - Chicago
390/391, 392/393, 394/395 Chicago-Port Huron
400/401 Port Huron - Toledo
410/411 Durand - Toledo
420/421 Flint - Toledo
450/451 Muskegon - Detroit
432/433 Battle Creek - Detroit
434/435 Chicago - Detroit

I don't have an accurate list for the locals.

I have one for the yard jobs but it is huge and would take me an hour to type.

It's a little past the era you're looking for, but I do have the list of the Michigan locals effective April 1, 1984:

-503/502 10:30 EST Port Huron-Davison turn (as needed)
-511/510 05:30 CST Battle Creek-South Bend turn (Daily except Sunday)
-523/522 1400 CST Battle Creek-Kalamazoo turn (Daily)
-600/601 0830 EST Detroit-Richmond turn (Daily except Sunday)
-611/610 0930 EST Detroit-Jackson Sub turn (Mon-Wed-Sat) and Detroit-Romeo Sub turn (Tues-Thur-Fri)
-613/612 0900 EST Pontiac-Durand turn (Daily except Sunday)
-651/650 0800 EST Durand-Coopersville-Grand Rapids (Mon-Wed-Fri), Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Durand (Tues), and Grand Rapids-Coopersville-Durand (Thurs-Sat)
-653/652 0930 EST Durand-St Johns turn (Mon-Wed-Fri)
-663/662 0930 EST Durand-Carson City turn (Tues-Thurs-Sat)
-675/674 1915 EST Bay City-Midland turn (Daily except Sunday)
-681-680 0815 EST Toledo-Deroad turn (Daily except Sunday)

I would guess all other switching was done by actual yard jobs or road trains at this time.

Thanks for the help. Did they have container/intermodal traffic then? Or are those symbols not avaliable?

I don’t think Moterm opened until the late 1980’s. That’s when the dedicated intermodal trains started.

Intermodal to/from Moterm in 1985:

200 ran from Railport-Chicago to Moterm, 5 days per week. 201 was the counterpart train, departing from Moterm at 2:15am.

434 and 435 also operated between Chicago and Moterm. 434 picked up TOFC and perishable traffic at Blue Island. Extra 2434 and 2435 would run if intermodal cars would reach 65 cars, or if the combination of intermodal and freight traffic would exceed 100 cars.

I'm going from memory, and this would be late '80s - early '90s.

207 was a short piggyback train from Moterm? to Chicago. Through Lansing early evening. There may have been a 206? that ran early, early morning?

236/237 was the Laser. CN power and piggyback trailers in well cars until they opened the new tunnel at Port Huron. There was also a 238/239 pair that either ran only some of the time or ran when I wasn't around.

200 or 202 maybe? Double stacks, sometimes with UP power. I recall this only running once a week maybe, often through Lansing on Friday afternoon. Not sure which way it went at Durand.

In the mid-to-late 90s I seem to recall a 173 which ran nightly out of Moterm to...I forget where. Chicago? Battle Creek? Was usually NB through Birmingham around 9:30 or 10pm, depending on how Amtrak was running.
