Train Festival 2009: Update

CSX_CO I would presume a Pilot diesel, as they do not want another NW 611 (ie split the switch), or a NW 1218 (ie idiot running another crossing) incident to happen. Would be great to see her with the NS Pilot to Milan then maybe the AA will let her lead? I would like to get her through downtown AA... Imagine NKP 765 and the background of Ann Arbor...

i just happened to drive past the Ft. Wayne RR Historical Society today and was happy to see an Ohio Central f40ph along with OC cars.

WHAT does Amtrak certification have to do with any of this?? Amtrak DOES NOT operate over ANY portion of the route the engine will go over.
The unit is a former Amtrak F40, but it was modified for regional freight use and almost certainly IS NOT certified by Amtrak anymore.
NS will indeed have a pilot engine leading the train for the duration of its run over the Huntington District. When it reaches the Annie at Milan, the plan, as I understand it, calls for 765 to lead the train.
Here's a photo of the unit, which is now technically an F40M-2C.

Actually, I heard today that this unit, along with some of the OC passenger equipment, may not be coming afterall. On the other hand, the passenger equipment was undoubtably slated for use on the long excursions, which, as of this moment, are again open for tickets (If you hadn't purchased yours yet). If these cars aren't coming...why is there all of a sudden extra capacity on all four trips?

Also, our first unit traveling to Trainfestival is now in route ---- Southern FP-7 #6133 was picked up earlier this afternoon, and is now in route to Owosso.

ONCE 4449 REACHES CHICAGO, THE GPS UNIT WILL BE SECRETLY SWITCHED TO A METRA UNIT.

Well it's been the presumed route all along, but I think its safe to say that 765 will be running from Fort Wayne to Owosso via Milan. I don't know if this is completely official, but it was posted a while ago (during the North Judson excursions) that the move will take place on July 22nd, according to a member of the FWRHS.
