(CP 242/X500) will stay running thru Grand Rapids.

I was under the impression that the contract between CP and CSX was the CP ws to run a minimum 1000 cars per month via GR\Detroit. How they did that was up to CP. I thought the contract was still good for at least another 18-24 months. Could be why X500 is staying and the K trains are going to the B&O line.

From some of Dok's past posts (maybe he can clarify?), I believe the contract for X500 is good either to or through 2012. What happens after we get there is anyone's guess.

Odd, must have changed engines. He had CSXT 2619 coming back from Wayne,a nd went into North YUard to haed to Wixom. D716 had CSXT 1557 and headed south. You might have seen D716. Kelsey Hayes is SOUTH of I275.

Wonder if the "out clause" is too pricey, or if they want to keep just enough of a presence on CSX to protect themselves in case of a need for a detour route, things go sour with the NS etc.?
