This past weekend, I went to visit family in Detroit. On the way down on Friday, I spotted a string of cars, with no power at Townline. The second or third car was CMGN 1, so I assume that there was a local switching somewhere near, and left its cars there. No time to stop though.
Saturday (12/30) I was finally granted a short period of time to visit Rougemere and Delray. I came in on Miller Street, and spotted a CSX coke train with GCFX (?) SD40-2 3108 CSX SD50 8570 and FURX 3046.
Then I saw a rack train slowly pulling towards Eagle overpass. To my great suprise, CP SD40-2 --25 (Pacman) lead Soo (white) SD60 6025. I didn't have time to chase it, but I got a far away photo.
I then went under Eagle St., and went down Wren (?) street, paralleling the yard. The power there was:
SLED
RCPHG4 9248
RCPHG4 9244
RCPHG4 9342
(CR) GP40-2 4414
SLED
By the yard office there was:
GP40-2 4404
RCPHG4 9303
RCPHG4 9334
MP15AC 1217
A yard job was also sitting by the office with
GP40-2 6048
RCPHG4 9158
There were also two trains sitting there
Ex: CR SD40-2 8867
GCFX SD40-2 ?
SD50 8544
(other units unknown)
There was also a string of autoracks.
A coke train was waiting by the old CP Intermotal office for its turn through Delray.
SD50 8575
8-40C 7575
With limited time at Delray, I pass over the tracks, and see a CP intermotal train waiting. I go on to turn the car around, by checking the old CR yard (?). Dead except for a few tank cars. I hear a horn, and see the CP train crossing the road. I wish I would have stayed.
CP AC4400 8553 (?)
CP AC4400 9667
63 cars
I am sitting in line for the train to pass when I hear a diesel engine. I jump out as two BNSF Gevos pull past Delray light. Any clue why?
BNSF ES44AC 6112
BNSF ES44AC 5872

I pull past Rougemere again on my way back to the freeway. The coke train had moved up, but wasn't moving, and the string of racks was gone. I head over to Eagle st. with perfect timing as the train pulls across the bridge. It made for cool pictures, the train on the bridge with the Ford plant in the backround, but unfortunatelty the sun wasn't with me.
That was a lot of railroading in something like 45 minutes.
On the way back home (Sunday), there was a grain train in Flint, a coal drag on the SBS under the Zilwauke bridge, and nothing at townline (as far as I could see through the foggy window. There was also a hopper spotted at the grain (?) elevator in Standish, plus there were two waiting to be spotted.
Does anybody know any of these train numbers, as I still railfan "old style" (without a scanner).
More pictures to come maybe tomorrow, when I get back.
Thanks,

Dont forget about the western coal trains on the GTW for Monroe, or the Western coal trains for Trenton and Monroe, from the NS. CSX isint the only one to haul coal.
