Where is it? I'm assuming in Detroit somewhere? Near Delray?

Re: Milwalkee Jct. Traffic level
Milwaukee Junction is near the I-75 and I-94 interchange in Detroit.
Re: Milwalkee Jct. Traffic level
Yes, if you get off of I-75 at Clay Ave. Go east on Clay, and there will be a crossing with the CN Holly Sub. That crossing is not a bad place to stand.

Don't you mean "Nice photos Steve aka GTW6401?" Railcanon's not on the site as far as I'm aware.AARR wrote:Nice photo's RailCanon...I mean GTW6401
Although Steve does photograph rail related subjects and uses a Canon if that's what you are getting at AARR.

Re: Milwalkee Jct. Traffic level
Every move is slow through Delray. Lot of light engine moves.

Re: Milwalkee Jct. Traffic level
I've spent many hours sitting waiting to get into oakwood at Delray and yes almost moves at Delray are extremely slow and boring. But the variety of power that comes through and all the transfer moves are pretty cool

Re: Milwalkee Jct. Traffic level
True. A good variety of power. I saw one ofthe CSX gensets with a few cars heading up into Rougemere, at Delray a couple weeks ago.

Re: Milwalkee Jct. Traffic level
I have yet to see the Genset's but i think the whole area from OJ Junction to 15th street is pretty cool lots of train action in a small area plus great older buildings / bridges and a tunnel to use for photo backdrops

Milwaukee Junction Traffic Levels
I acutally like Milwaukee Junction better than Delray anymore. I cant stand the constant pounding of the semi-trucks on Dearborn, overzelous railroad police officers, and a crossing there makes you think your car will break apart.
You have to move around to see everything in the Detroit area. It all depends on what you hear on the scanner and where you are.

Re: Milwalkee Jct. Traffic level
When the economy was better it was around 20-30 movements per 8 hours IIRC. I'm sure it's down by at least half in these times.bnsfben wrote:More than Milwaukee Jnct.mike nowakowski wrote:Didin't want to start a new thread but whats the traffic level through Delray then?
