Re: CEBX 800 heads up
Thanks for the update Chris and Ben. At 15 mph max speed, that would put it into Durand at 4:30pm and Lansing approx 8pm if it doesn't stop for anything.

So I take it that this won't go by Arnold St until around 5 or 6am Wednesday.
I could leave now and probably get to Durand before it does...and I am about 2 hours away.

Train is roughly at CP Flint. Talk is it's on the service track, and a westbound behind it will overtake it before it gets to West Flint.

SOUNDS LIKE THE BIG LOAD IS SPENDING THE NIGHT IN FLINT.
WE WON'T SEE IT IN LANSING BECAUSE THE BOYZ IN DA HOOD WILL HAVE IT IN A SCRAP YARD BY MORNING .
I WONDER HOW MUCH A POUND THEY'LL GET.

Re: CEBX 800 heads up
Well we got all the way up to Durand by almost 4 or so and saw Westbound 397 with 40 cars. Then about 10 minutes later, Eastbound 396 came by with 152 cars - a LOT of gons in this train!
After learning the wide load train (950) was going to wait in Flint for 396 to pass, we went to McDonalds and came back to the depot to eat. We then learned that 950 was going to tie up in Flint, so we went over to try and catch a look but couldn't find it - it was in the yard somewhere. BUMMER! Do they run this train only during the day light? It tied up in Sarnia/Pt. Huron last night, then has tied up in Flint tonight. Just wondering.
Oh well, I got off work early and saw 2 trains. Not bad for the rest of the day.

Re: CEBX 800 heads up
The train will not run at night. Granted that it sounds like CN wants it to leave after the morning rush... I have a feeling it might follow behind Amtrak. But, that is just a guess. I saw the thing in Imlay City today.David Lang wrote:Well we got all the way up to Durand by almost 4 or so and saw Westbound 397 with 40 cars. I thought it was next to Durand but it's on the Grand Rapids Sub so now I'm not so sure what CN refers to as Vernonmsurailfan wrote:Where is Vernon?
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Isn't Vernon between Durand and Owosso on the HESR? There used to be a wig-wag near there.msurailfan wrote:Where is Vernon?

CN's Vernon is the location of the crossovers on the double track between Durand and Bancroft.Jochs wrote:msurailfan wrote:Where is Vernon?

ScooterB reports that they must be near Lansing. Dispatcher was just talking to O915 with CN 5528 about which main they want to run from Okemos to Cedar.
