If you eat here, check out the old photos on the wall from when this was originally a Burger Chef. I have faint memories of Burger Chef, but I do remember the one on Riverview Drive in Benton Harbor, which was later Hardees, Henry's, and a Fish Hut. The only Henry's left around here (and possibly the country) is in the Fairplain area of Benton Harbor.Jochs wrote:For fans of Hardees, there is one on M51 (South 11th St. I believe) south of Niles a few miles north of the stateline.railohio wrote:Still a Hardee's in Bucyrus, Ohio, too, though I usually get to the one in Dixon, Illinois the most!
This may interest anyone coming to the Fall Meet in Elkhart.
Another local restaurant in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph is Roxy's, a drive-in style. There's one near St. Joseph High School in St. Joseph at Cleveland and BL 94, and Roxy's Brown Lantern on M139 between Pipestone and Napier.
There used to be one next to Kentucky Fried Chicken on M139 in the Fairplain Area, in the 1990's there was Roxy's Depot Diner at the St. Joseph Depot, and Roxy's Drive-In on Main St. in Benton Harbor. The depot restaurant became RJ Caimans and is now Silver Beach Pizza. The downtown Benton Harbor restaurant closed in the late 1990's.
