Cant believe the other fans here have not posted about this. The show will never be the same.

Re: RIP Deadliest Catch.
I found the 1st couple shows interesting. After they began focusing more on the personal drama I lost interest and stopped watching. Ironically, after they started focusing on the personal drama is when my wife and kids became interested in the show
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

The first couple seasons were really good, but I wasn't that into the last season. This is pretty much it then, the show will be nothing without them. It had a good run.....

I've watched since the series began, this is the first I've even heard about this. I do know that the Harris brothers have decided to stay on, they weren't sure if they were going to keep fishing or not after Phil died.

I really liked what they did this last season with Capt. Phil but i probably wont end up watching it now with most of the "main" stars not being on there.....

I dont know if the Harris Brothers will be back or not. I know that they recently announced they would, but I had thought I had heard a conservation that if the "boat" did not come back that the Hillstrand's would take one and Sig would take the other. Was it ever said that the Cornelia Marie was comming back or just the boys.conrailmike wrote:I've watched since the series began, this is the first I've even heard about this. I always liked that show----bummer that it's going away, or at least the crews apparently are.
But maybe it's better to go out now than beat it to death and "jump the shark". Not to be morbid or anything, but from a purely documentary standpoint, how rare is it to be able to show something like Captain Phil's last season and to let the audience 'experience' his passing as it happened? A couple of seasons back, the crew of the Time Bandit plucked a fisherman who fell overboard from a nearby boat, just in the nick of time to save him. The previous season, they recovered the body of another fisherman who wasn't so lucky. And when Captain Jonathan (Hilstrand) went below decks to see the survivor, he was visibly shaken. You could tell he exorcised a demon or two that day...You just can't script stuff like that.

You know there are other fishing boats then just the ones you see on the show. I'm sure they will get other captains and other boats to take their place. That show is to popular for the Discovery Channel to just cancel it. That's my two cents worth.

I think they figured out that with the loss of most of there main people, the show would flop.
