After a short haitus, Yuma is shipping sand again.
Heres Great Lakes Central GP-35's 390 and 392 with a loaded southbound train just north of Boon.
On trip up to Yuma the GLC had 52 empty cars in tow.

Thanks for the update KC. I've heard they're using newer covered hoppers and they look pretty sharp.

Geat shot, KC! I always think about 'continuity' when I see those GP35's...Those engines ran countless miles under the flag of the Ann Arbor...riding on trucks of the FA's they replaced...which were the engines that replaced steam!

It all depends on how busy the sand mine is but it seems they run a minimum of three days a week to as many as five. There are times when the Ford engine plant is shut down and they may go a week or two with no runs to Yuma.hobojim wrote:How often does this train run each week and on what days.
