CSX Conrail paint list location

Strike the 7490 from the list, it has been repainted.

That makes at least three locomotives that I shot at the deshler meet this spring have been repainted
7490, along with CSXT 8700 and 8521, both being in YN2 at the time.

ex-CR CSX #7335 is coming north on Q282...whether or not I'll be able to get it will remain to be seen.

Current YN2/YN3 count as of 10/31/10 is 1,523 painted YN2, 2,503 painted YN3. Total YN2/YN3: 4,026

As of 12-1-10 the current YN2/YN3 count is 1,504 painted YN2, 2,525 YN3. Total YN2/ YN3: 4,029

The two missing CR units from the last report was GP40-2 6981 and GP38-2 2796. The missing pre YN2 unit is SD40-2 8039. All three now in YN3.

I had CSX 7335 as a leader a few weeks ago. 101 car mixed freight MCHAS, 2nd unit (CSX 8500) was past due and couldn't be used for power. 7335 pulled the train through Chicago Heights (a pretty good southbound pull) at 6 MPH. Other than that, it was a piece of junk with the CSX baby seats.

There were no less than 54 new CSX repaint discoveries in the final two months of 2010, 48 of them went from YN2 to YN3, two went from YN1 to YN3, (2638,8039) and four Conrails went to YN3. (2796,6981,7326,7329) Along with the retirement of SD45-2 8954, which will remain on CSX in Atlanta Georgia as a training unit, we are now down to just 40 locomotives left to have an all YN2/YN3 paint roster. Here are the revised new paint totals to start 2011.

YN3: 2,557, YN2: 1,475. 20 units left in pre YN2, 20 units left not in CSX. (18CR, 1LMS, 1NS)

CSX 7335 was spotted on Q201 (Louisville Ky. to Birmingham Al.) on 1/12/11, still wearing it's Conrail Quality paint scheme.

CSX 7303 still in Conrail blue paint was the leader on L284 today, over the Main Line Subdivision. Pictures from the chase, will come later!
