Wauseon Golf Course
I was looking on google maps for locations along the NS chicago line to visit, and I noticed a location called "ironwood golf course" just southwest of downtown Wauseon. It has a gravel parking lot next to the tracks. Has anybody ever parked there? Is it an acceptable location to sit, or will you be chased off?

I've never parked there. My usual spot is the public parking lot on the east side of the depot. Are you looking for a photo angle or just a place to park and watch the action?

On nice days you won't find a parking spot at Ironwood. You're better off sitting downtown by the station. There's a park on the north side and a municipal parking lot on the south side, no chance of being run off.

I take photos at the course while my teenage son hits golf balls at the driving range. The rails are quite a bit higher than the golf course and the photo ops are not that great. As stated above, downtown at the depot area is alot better. I live 15 minutes from there and in 10 yrs. or so have never been approached by anyone at the depot area. Great spot for a picnic and trains in the summer.

There are a number of small towns on the line that would lend themselves to photos. Stryker, Swanton, Archbold, Pettisville ?? to name a few. Pettisville would be the least attractive in my opinion.

Actually Pettisville lends itself better then any other option for Photography as you have a good location background for westbounds and eastbounds, if you just want to sit in a parking lot and watch trains goes by maybe not the best.
Swanton, Delta, Wauseon, Pettisville, Archbold, Stryker, and Bryan all have parking lots right at the tracks that are hassle free spots and frequented by railfans so their presence does not create any questions.

Stryker is one of my more favorite spots to shoot on the Chicago line.
