My first view of the new GLC 396
My first view of the new GLC 396
Today went in search of the new GLC power, at Cadillac found 389-393 sporting the TSBY yellow, followed them to Clare when the scanner announced that the 396 was nearing!
Shortly 396 running long hood forward arrived along with the 392, after some switching and exchanging cars 393-389 departed back north and the 396-392 left Clare southbound with 28 cars.
Heres the 396 arriving in town:
After rearranging the engines, heres 396 again leading with 28 cars and the 392:
1 down 4 to go!

Great pics, thanks for posting those!!! Nice to have the sun out for them too! I really like the new GLC logo under the cab.

Wow KC, those shots are absolutely awesome! We need a thumbs-up smiley! Great to see the new locomotive out with an old Annie 35 stretching her legs, and great to see that pair of yellow ones out and about too.

I love that second shot! Thanks again KC!

I certainly hope they never get rid of all the GP-35s. The GP-38-2s are still cool but I like the classic GP-35s better. They're very pratical for a shortline/regional railroad. It sounds like they've been having trouble with turbos lately. I'm not exactly sure as to their plans for their engine roster in the future.
Re: My first view of the new GLC 396
That was not yellow. It was gold as in WVU gold and blue.
In a sad note KC, in your second picture at the top the 392 looks to have some bad power assemblys. That new one in the funny colors is nice and clean. (Exhaust that is.)

Let’s give a rah for West Virginia
And let us pledge to her anew,
Others may be black or crimson,
but for us it’s Gold and Blue

Until you corrected me many years ago I thought it was maize and blue in honor of the U of M. They would have looked pretty cool with the Woverine Claws on the nose and cab like the football helmetsTSB wrote:At least you didn't call it corn.
