So judging by that graphic on page 2 of this thread, it could be through Lansing between noon and 3?

Took my 6-year old nephew out to lunch and decided to try to catch it at Mt. Clemens. Got to the depot at 12:30. We watched the train blast thru at 12:40.

To bad I was moving a dump scow in NYC at the time. Would have liked to have seen this.
Re: GTW Santa Train
Dumb question, but will this be heading north from Pontiac in order to move towards Battle Creek? If so, I'll be stalking it in Holly or Gaines...

Can anyone give a heads up on the move back to Chicago. I would like to catch it in South Bend.

Re: GTW Santa Train
Since it came over dead-heading on Q116, it's likely it'll probably go back west as part of a regular freight, and that could be at any time.rolloffdvr22 wrote:Can anyone give a heads up on the move back to Chicago. I would like to catch it in South Bend.

I would keep an eye out for 149 tomorrow, because they go to Markham.

Nice scene you captured there, Steve.

Re: GTW Santa Train
I also posted on the heads-up, but looks to be getting ready to head west out of Battle Creek yard soon, its moved from the car shop track where it spent the night. It appears that its going to run under its own power with IC 101 in the lead, at least it sounds like both locos are running and they have the track to themselves. Perhaps someone knows for sure...may be some good pic opportunities this morning as it heads west
