Three more articles on this:

http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/port ... 2e059.html

Says one train stopped, another ran into the rear of it, then a third was passing on the adjacent track and hit the wreckage.
edit: deleted mqt3001's rant about csx sucking and the replies.. stop spamming every thread with needless drivel

Yea it was not me, but if I had been two spots lower on the board, it would have been me. And knowing who the engineer was I deffinatly would have worked.

Yes, where will they re-route these trains? Any chance they'll run 'em on the Indy Line?Huelsy'sTrainBlog wrote:Do you know how they are rerouting the trains?

Re: Wreck at Suman
I want to know also about the detours? Can they reroute the trains from Chicago south to Indianapolis, and then run them on the Big 4 back up to Greenwich? I might be taking a trip to Marion now tomorrow if that's the case!

Re: Wreck at Suman
They can but not likley. Normal in a situation like this is, UPS runs on NS Chicago Line, other hot van trains might run via GR. Hot mixed freight via GR as much as they can take, rest is usualy held until the line is open.

Spoken like a true railroad employee. I can't deny that I've used a line similar to that before.Doktor No wrote:I thought I'd volunteer my services on my day off to get them thru Wyoming yard...but naaaa. No longer qualified anywhere else...darn!

Hmm. Since I plan on going to a train show in Grand Rapids on Saturday, I may have to go to Porter on Sunday.sd70accsxt700 wrote:They can but not likley. I would say normal route. Dumping ballast in the three am hour on both tracks. One track should be open soon.sd70accsxt700 wrote:Called out on Q010 at 0530 at Bedford Park. Caller did not say anythinng about what we are doing with it.
