I saw it at Sterling yard a couple years ago, in Southern green.

That's too bad I didn't know about it being here! I sure wanted to see it! I'm happy that there's all these new heritage locos coming! It will be great!!!!

I like the Nickel Plate/Southern/Lehigh Valley/Pennsylvania best! Of course Conrail is among my favorites too!!!!
  Hey they all look great!  Now, I haven't seen any responses from my post from 1-30 on the NS updates!
Listed below is info (again) about the Re-painted GP59 #4610!

The first Chattanooga 4: NS 8092-8095 at Kansas City maybe points south already.

You bet that looked nice! That was when it was fresh! Man, it's just too bad I never saw it in person! Ahh well, nobody can see "Everything!" At least there's museums with "Authentic" Southern units (such as Tennesse Valley/NC Trans. Museum)! With these new "Heritage" units coming, I'm sure some will come to Michigan! I am wondering how "National Train Day" will be in Toledo in May! It's certainly possible one may make it there!

I am very happy NS is undertaking the Heritage paint project. I can not help but wonder if NS management had a moment of clarity and realized that their locomotive fleet could contribute very little to their image. I can't blame the railroad for being consistent in the use of a very practical paint scheme. In a way the NS fleet reminds me of the PRR fleet in the later years. Solid Dark Green Locomotive Enamel with a few undersized Keystones slapped on the flanks. Not too pretty but effective.

As a side note, I believe the PRR and NYC names and trademarks are still owned by American Premier Underwriters, Inc. the legal successor to the PennCentral Company. I remember a few years ago some idiot tried to trademark the PRR name and logo to extract royalties from the model railroad industry. The judge tossed out the case when the insurance company lawyers filed a brief.

Cheers to the NS for making a bunch for FRNs happy.

I also from time to time look and old photos and then come to realize that less than 10 years ago, nearly every loco was Black. Now, at least there is some variety....

Why would these go to Chattanooga if they're in Kansas City? None of these are slated to be heritage units from what I understand. These four went to MAC for paint.

A friend relayed info to me that NS 8098 and 8099 have been delivered and will be the first two heritage units.

Seems to be some disagreement as to these being heritage units though. Picture taken 3/2 in Decatur, IL.

EDIT: Seems from what I have seen and read, 8098 and 8099 are to be first two ES44AC to bare the heritage paint. With 8098 being Conrail and 8099 being Southern.

Well I would assume that they'd add it. Heck we may see a few more additions before all is said and done. Fine with me :)
