That be a Railgenerica rule. Couple of nasty derailments on the Indiana Southern and one of the Michigan lines three or four years ago and the rule came out. Welded rail needs more than one in every five or six ties to be good.....

So what HAVE they been up to lately? Daylight moves? Sneaky nighttime midnight owl runs? Using the GTW high hood on the lead non-stop on road freights??

All over the clock. I have caught them at Turner St. morning, noon, and night. I feel for the crews working such an erratic schedule.
