The Alliagator's were RSD-15's with a low nose. Railroad to purchas the low nose versons, were the ATSF (50) & SP (13 total) companies (TNO & SSW). The nose on the RSD-7's and 15's were the same length, but it was the low nose verson that got the nickname. That unit there has the standard lenght ALCO pre-Century series nose. Sorry cant seam to find any diagrams or info on the diffrence in length for the nose, but I would guess its about 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet longer.
