HO Athearn F7s
I bought an Athearn NS OCS F7 A&B set today and was wondering if there is a super detail kit available for these units? Has anyone used any? Are they easy to use?

Re: HO Athearn F7s
Are the models accurate to the way NS rebuilt there F units? I have noticed that NS's F units have slight differences in the placement of the fans on the roof and of course what I changed one my 2 NS F7 OCS units. I got the Bachmann F7s, so they are not super detailed but with a little work they should be nice when I'm done with it. So far I have added K5LAs to the engines in place of the "blat" horns that came with it. I also plan on painting the handrails yellow like on the real NS OCS engines. Some of the things that I do not plan on redoing are the fans roof and any other big modifications that NS did...
So basically what Im asking is how do these units stack up to the real NS ones and what will you have to do to make it more detailed?
This is the bachmann F7s and NS dome car I got.

Re: HO Athearn F7s
Thank you Brandon! I don't think I'll go that far with my units, but plan on adding ditch lights and the grabs. also the windshield wipers and crew figures. oh and the K5LA and a sound decoder. Most likely the M.U. cables too. In the end I think they will be nice units! Then I'll just look out for cheap streamlined passenger cars and paint them. Don't think I'll do them 100% accurate, but would like to make a moderate stand in. Again thanks for the sites! They will help!
