New signals for Durand
New signals for Durand
I was up in Durand last weekend and one of the locals was telling me that CN is putting all new LED signals around the station and other locations around Durand. They are suppose to start in February. Has anyone else heard this?
Re: New signals for Durand
Over a year ago there were already LED signals installed west of Durand at Vernon Rd. I'm sure they will be changing over to LED's on the Flint sub as the budget permits. There are also some LED's on the Holly sub, but the change is taking some time.

I have also heard rumors about this... but a rumor is a rumor.

They did change some of the signals on the Holly but not all of them in our area. Still have some searchlight signals here in Fenton and to the east in Holly Twp. LED's can be seen in downtown Holly and in Linden at the Linden Rd. crossing. I think Gaines is also searchlight style.Norm wrote:Over a year ago there were already LED signals installed west of Durand at Vernon Rd. Re: New signals for Durand
Well CN plan for all of its Rails, is to convert all of its CTC signals to LEDs. They are going across the whole system, and changing them slowly. The other part is they are going away from Single style heads, to tri color heads, with LEDs. I know here in Canada, they were having a problem with Snow blocking the signals, as they do not heat up as much as the old bulb style, so CN has ordered there's with electric wire heaters on them, to help melt the snow.
