I used to spend hours on this site, but recently when I went to look up a certain accident, I find the text of the reports to be missing. What's up with this? Are they being moved to another site?

The site seems a little buggy but they worked fine for me.

Apparently, it doesn't work with Chrome. I had finally had success using IE.

The site works but I am unable to find any information about a collision I saw on the C and O between Northville and Novi sometime in the late 50's -early 60's. There was a picture of it in either the Detroit News or Times with a brief article stating 2 people were killed. For the life of me, I can't find anything about it.

There have been far more accidents (with and without lose of life) than what are shown on that site. Seems they did a random pick of the reports for each year.

Boxcar54 - Are you talking about a car-train accident? The Northville Library has recently posted online archives of the Northville Record. You can try searching the paper to see if they listed anything. In skimming the paper, I've seen a number of articles about accidents on the C&O, mostly involving cars and trucks getting hit by trains.

It takes some tinkering to get the searching to pull up what you want. You can also look at specific issues which might be quicker if you know the approximate dates when an incident happened.

a.) This site wouldn't have car-train accidents as NoviRailfan described. b.) The ICC was morphed into the NTSB in 1995 and their accident reports are in a different place online.rrboomer wrote:There have been far more accidents (with and without lose of life) than what are shown on that site. Thank you for the link. Actually it was a 2 train collision. I don't remember if it was head-on or rear ended but I do remember seeing at least 2 Geeps and several cars lying on their sides.NoviRailfan wrote:Boxcar54 - Are you talking about a car-train accident?
