Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
Waited by the library this time, I think it is the brightestspot in town. 4032 back on the CF&E.
Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
1/3/13. EB FWLI through Van Wert at 7:02PM. In charge were CFE 3880/CORP 4024/SCRF 6415 lugging 78 cars. Train was very heavy on covered hoppers. Consisted of 62 covered hoppers:FURX, FMLX, AEX, CSYX, BNGX, BNSF, AGPX, ALDH, DOWX, CCBX, CG?X among others, 5 gons, 4 box cars, 3 tank cars, 3 loaded steel flats from SDI and at least 1 plastics hopper maybe more for a total of 78 cars. First CF&E train I have seen in forever. Had to wait on it at the N. Walnut St. crossing. Schucks!

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
Well the friday FWLI was another late run coming though after dark close to 7:30pm.
Also today (sunday) at Cole St was an empty rail train tied up with a CSX GP38-2 waiting to go west. Has anybody heard of CSX handing off power with these like they do a unit grain train? It wasn't by the road so not 100% sure it was uncrewed but looked to be.

Yes. I remember a couple years ago switching the Ft. Wayne yard with a CSX GP40-2/SLUG set that had come over on a rail train. CSX 2345/6902, IIRC...alittlevanwerty wrote: Also today (sunday) at Cole St was an empty rail train tied up with a CSX GP38-2 waiting to go west. Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
Thanks! Only wish people wouldn't park on the railroad's property obscuring the view. I don't know if the NREX came back through last night. 4034 stayed in Lima and wife said the return run had 4024/6412. I didn't see the NREX in Lima at either Cole St or Sugar st so wondering if it went south. 4023 was working at the I&O and the power for the LSL/LNL was gone but not sure which run they were doing.
Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
5597 and 6412 came home last night . 6412 came in to the shopfor a 90 day inspection this afternoon. 4023 is on todays fwli that is tied down just east of the fort waiting on a crew .

Maybe 4024 at sugar st then? I couldn't see the number as it was 50 yards off the road.
Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
probably was, 4023 just came out of shop this morning.I think 4023 and 6415 are together on the fwli, least that was the plan at one time today. Not sure when it will run but wont be til tomorrow for sure.

Hope 4023 is on point, I still haven't got a recording of its horn. I was it on point of the FWLI last week or so but was just out the door for work

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
Darn, the FWLI just passed through VW. 4023 was leading, 45 cars, first 23 was solid high cube boxcars.
Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
Nice vid of the 6412 leading. Keep it up!
There are 5 covered hoppers for CSP just south of the Scott Equity: 3 ACFX and 2 NAHX. Also 1 grain car at the elevator.
At the Van Wert Terminal there are 4 tank cars and 9 covered hoppers for the transload.

Re: Everything/Anything CF&E thread...Part 2
Thanks! Must have ran a LIVW last night or Tuesday night because there were about 9 hoppers at Scott Equity Tuesday when I went by.
Well passed through Lima 3 times today, last night FWLI never ran a return run. 4023/6415 were still coupled to their train and 3880/4034 were doing the switching. In the afternoon 6415 was doing the switching and I missed the incoming FWLI by minutes. 5597 was sliding in the yard between the lanes of cars.

I managed to run to the gate in time to catch the return run 15 minutes ago. 5597/6415/4023. Video up later, also coming soon my Fostoria video/pics from today.

Heard this train call into to Lima to see what track was available. Filmed it east of Delphos. PPhotos and videos to come.
