Sounds like a meeting will be held Wednesday with Pioneer Rail, shippers along the line and government officials.
Re: Napoleon, Defiance and Western: The Beginning
The crew is now taking the 3054 west as lite power. Rolling out of Napoleon now.

The 4154 was idling next to the yard office this evening. The other GP38AC was still back on the interchange.

Why is the headlight and everything else bionic orange? This is after sunset so please don't tell me it was the natural lighting conditions.

Honestly, who would have ever thought a scene like this would have been possible on the ex-MAW?Y@ wrote:The 4154 was idling next to the yard office this evening. The other GP38AC was still back on the interchange.
"...and I was in the front and Matt grabbed and pulled my ears from behind me and made horsey sounds."

Re: Napoleon, Defiance and Western: The Beginning
Not sure what all happened in Napoleon today. There are three boxcars sitting west of Haley St. Wife said the train stopped. Then she could hear it revving up, but was unable to move. Said she heard what sounded like metal to metal. They then cut the three and took two east. I didn't walk down to see what happened. So, no idea as to what happened exactly.
When I came home, the guys from Pioneer (I am assuming it was Pioneer) were driving behind me down W.Clinton St. Nice new olive greenish Chevy Silverado HiRail,

Where the ef were you for that shot? Hawt! Holy Richard!
Re: Napoleon, Defiance and Western: The Beginning
Brent, we were on the big gravel pile there.
I was just out driving around tonight and happened to stumble upon the 4154 again, this time tied down in Jewell with five "hot cars" for Napoleon.
At first, I was sad to see the MAW go... Not anymore! I love Pioneer!

Re: Napoleon, Defiance and Western: The Beginning
Very nice photos fellas....I buzzed by the yard yesterday on my way east but didn't see a sign of the NS power, and since I had a date with some KCS power, I just kept on heading east. Thanks for capturing this transition period.

NS power in Napoleon

They ran two trains today within a half hour of each other. The Pioneer GP20 went by and about 20 minutes later the NS 4154 went by.
Lots of track work in town as well. Four vehicles and a back hoe.

Yep... You aren't the only one that shot them.
Two moving trains (not light power, trains!) in Napoleon at the same time... Now that's something I really never thought I'd see.
