Re: First Michigan G&W engine
This really isn't the first GW engine, I cant believe I forgot this, but Rail Link operates in Da UP at Port Inland and owns the SD20 things that are up there. They have G&W lettering on them so technically they were the first.

Why hasn't G&W repainted the Port Inland Railroad's fleet yet?

Prolly because they have no public access. Why spend money on corporate image if you don't go through the public's back yard. I'm not even sure if they have a shop up there.Chrisracer8903 wrote:I was just waiting for you to say that!CAT345C wrote:This really isn't the first GW engine, I cant believe I forgot this, but Rail Link operates in Da UP at Port Inland and owns the SD20 things that are up there. Hearing thru the grapevine that the engine may look pretty but the mechanicals are rough and the floor is rotted though.

Could that be the reason it sat for quite a while at its previous home?DR wrote:Hearing thru the grapevine that the engine may look pretty but the mechanicals are rough and the floor is rotted though.
It sounds strange that G&W would send a junk engine out to one of the new-to-them RA roads if they're as on top of things as has been stated in other threads.

#2 on its way, HESR 3323, former CNNW SD40-2. Looks like all they did was put a HE logo on an older painted engine, as its already filthy.

It looks like the plan is to get at least one repainted loco on each of the new properties as soon as possible to "show the flag" so to speak.

Dude, what are you talking about? The UP is another state. Sheesh.CAT345C wrote:This really isn't the first GW engine, I cant believe I forgot this, but Rail Link operates in Da UP at Port Inland and owns the SD20 things that are up there.

Re: First Michigan G&W engine
3323 has been lettered for Huron & Eastern and as of last word was in transit to the HESR. Recent pics of this engine show it still in patched UP yellow, so it must've been paint fairly recently. Not my photo (sent to me by a friend, not sure where it was posted originally).
Those G&W purists on Train Orders will be happy, they only put the H and E on the logo instead of the full HESR

That's a fresh paint job?
And where is the 3064 going?

Its an EMD, half your horsepower goes out the stack, including its oil, the other half goes out the airbox drains.

The 3323 was just in the consist of a Buffalo & Pittsburgh (G&W) train. The 3064 I believe is a B&P engine.J T wrote:That's a fresh paint job?

Not associated with GLLX in anyway or MQT or G&W. I just have a thing for the 02. OH BOY!
