Track Work On the dearborn Sub
Just a heads up. Cn is doing major work on the dearborn sub. Saw a whole lot of mow eq. working south of Pennsylvania Road today. Also they have been upgrading and replacing all the grade crossing on the line.

Saw them north of Sibley Rd today. Looked like a pretty big operation with headlights as far as I could see. They had also placed a couple red flags on the south side of Sibley Rd.

Re: Track Work On the dearborn Sub
Yeah i also noticed looking south from pen rd. there appears to be a new siding on the east side of the main, Checked Goggle earth and didn't see it. Granted goggle earth has not been updated in a while.
I know over the last few months the fully replaced the grade cross at pen rd. Now has full gates and the whole works.
The also put in a new line side cabin. One of them newer large alum jobs you can walk into.
Wounder if there going to put gates at sibely road next

I doubt its for sale. CN's theory is if they can operate lines more effeciently than someone else they might as well keep it. That's why they acquired quite a few new lines the last 10 years or so.zintac wrote:Are they going to sell it or is there a large increase in traffic coming?CharlieX90 wrote:Its all for a reason... Also regarding the CN, I was in Wyandotte on emmons and notice a large section of panel (on the south west) side track that looks like it might be part of a switch. Now i remember a while ago reading that they where going to put in a new X-over to NS. Any one know anything about that one?

About 15 miles long. CN does heavy interchange with NS in Melvindale along with business from Severstal (Ford Rouge) as well as some other on-line customers.milineamtrak wrote:It originates at Flat Rock and terminates at the Ford Rouge Complex. Its the line with all the arches.
